Spring Creative Floristry Workshop at Filson

125.00

Saturday, May 12th from 1-3 PM at the Filson Flagship (1741 1st Ave. S)

In this workshop we'll draw from seasonal PNW blooms, including ranunculus, anemones, specialty tulip varieties, snow ball viburnum, garden roses, and hyacinth.

Sarajane, the creative director of Thatch Floral, will do a floral design demonstration at the start of the session and discuss her design philosophy and teach you some floral techniques.

Participants will then start creating with the unique botanicals provided.

All will be encouraged to cultivate an open dialogue with workshop attendees regarding advice on flower placement, color palette decisions,  and the overall vision of their finished bouquets.

Each participant will leave with a finished bouquet in a glass vase boxed up for easy transport.

Sarajane will also give background on the “field-to-vase” movement and its focus on eco-conscious locally-grown, domestic flowers. With a spotlight on local agriculture, she will discuss shopping sustainably and seasonally to reduce the carbon footprint.
